This world has changed so much in such a short time. It has went lawless, with lovers of chaos, self, eschewing the things of God. This isn't the world I grew up in, and most likely not what you grew up in either.
For all the bad that has come into the world, the things we see around us, God hasn't stopped giving us His goodness. He's still providing air for us to breathe. We have clothes on our backs, food in our bellies, His Word in our hearts. He continues to take care of us, He hasn't backed away.
He continues to give us His mercy, when we sure don't deserve it. How much have we done, said, thought, that has hurt Him? How easy it would be for Him to turn His back and say "nope, you've crossed the line sister"! Yet He doesn't. He continuously gives us His grace each and every day.
It's very easy to look around us right now and see so much evil in this world. And, there is! But there is much good too, and much more to ahead for. This world is not all that there is. This is just a stepping stone to an eternal life with Jesus. How often did you as a child go out to a creek and try to cross it on the rocks sticking up just above the water, trying to get to the opposite shore without getting soaked? That's where we are now, crossing one by one on those slippery rocks. Will we fall in occasionally? Yes. And Jesus is right there to lift us back up, dry us off, and keep helping us until we get to that opposite shore, where we will be with Him forever.
For all the bad in the world, never never forget...this isn't all there is.
