Thankfulness

We've entered the holiday season of 2020 now, and it's that time of seasonal buying, decorating, planning gifts and holiday dinners.  Granted, things are a little different this year with all the Covid restrictions from our local and state governments, but workable.

This has a been a tough year for just about everyone.  There's no doubt this year was nothing like we'd expected, and who knows what's ahead.  I'm sure I don't need to go into details.

I'll be honest and admit that I've not been so thankful this year.  I've not been giving the Lord thanks for all that He's done to take care of us.  He's done so much for us, taken care of our needs, kept us well taken care of no matter the circumstances.  He deserves so much more than just thanks, He deserves my devotion, honor, praise, and more.

I'm making it a point from today on to be more mindful about giving thanks.  It's easy to give thanks for the good things, the high points, the things that bring happiness or joy.  I want to make sure to give Him thanks for the hard times as well, the things that stretch and strengthen faith.  Those aren't so easy to be thankful for, are they?

Ephesians 5:20 tells us "Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;".

I Thessalonians 5:18 tells us "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

Psalms 106:1 says "Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever."

Philippians 4:6 says "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."

Psalms 100:4 says "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name."

Do you thank the Lord as often as you should?

Why not join me as we move into the Christmas season, giving thanks to the Lord for everything?
